What is a "Kred"?
A kred is a short phrase - like a tweet - that describes a person's quality, character, skill or anything else. Once a person has received a number of kreds from different people a holistic picture of common traits in kreds is emerging and becomes visible. We call it a "360" degree profile of a person that can contain skills, talents, experiences, or really -anything else this person is associated with to other people
Why facebook login only?
We take kreds and your reputation seriously, so the accountability is a must for every comment - hence we rely on your facebook identity and reserve all rights to remove fake profiles and comments. No defamation or anonymous bashing is tolerated on this site.
Anybody can post ANYTHING about anybody?
Yes. So what? You can hide entire topics or block individual comments. Plus, remember, in either case you and everybody else will know who said what - there are no nicknames, so be responsible and remember that your StreetKred is not only what people say about you, but also what you say about other people
Why would I leave kreds?
You don't have too. Only if you feel like it. Certainly we (founders) have felt the need soimes. For example, recognizing a person who treated us especially nice, or who we truly admired for something they did or are doing. It could be the other way around too: some people think that they can get away with treating others badly for no reason, we believe that this site will make them think twice about that.
Why would I want to receive kreds?
Why not? If you do something really good or already have a local "streetcred" and reap the benefits of it, why not make it accessible to a larger audience? It could be just a bigger group of people that you would like to share it private or as large as the world - it's all in your hands. You have a complete control what topics you share and with who.
Any other reasons for StreetKred?
There are plenty, and we can really talk for hours about it, but it all comes down to enabling you to see holistically other people - their reputation, credibility, talents, skills with a big emphasis on privacy done right - so that you don't have to worry about it and have a complete control over it at any point of time while still being able to share the pieces that can benefit you in today's economy.
